Ha Long City to host 18th Vietnamese Film Fest

(Cinet) – The 18th national film festival will be held in Ha Long city in five days (from October 11-15), according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The best motion pictures, documentaries and animated cartoons will vie for awards at the event held every three years.

The awards, one Golden Lotus, two Silver Lotus and two Jury Prizes, will be presented to each category.

Personal award winners will be given to the best director, the best actor and actress, the best supporting actor and actress, the best scriptwriter, the best cameraman, the bestproduction design; the best music score and the best sound editing.

Local filmmakers and producers can send their entries to the Cinema Department at 147 Hoang Hoa Tham Street in Hanoi’s Ba Dinh District by September 15. Movies can be from many different genres, including feature films, videos, documentaries, scientific films and animation. All films must be approved to be publicized by the Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism, and must not violate copyrights and has not participated in any national television festival.

The festival is among cultural events featuring the 60th anniversary of the Viet Nam Cinema Industry.
