Detail Itinerary:
Night 1: Hanoi – Night train to Lao Cai
08:00 Pick up at the lobby of the hotel in Hanoi transfer to Hanoi Railways Station for the night train to Lao Cai.
Day 1: Lao Cai – Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Topas Ecolodge (13 km trekking, 5-6 hour trekking, B - L - D)
Arrive in Lao Cai around 5:30 a.m. We will take 1 hour van ride uphill to the beautiful town of Sapa. The ride gives you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. Upon arrival Sapa town, we have buffet breakfast at the hotel and then we will commence the excursion today with a walk through the town of Sapa and along a dirt trail through vegetable gardens and rice paddy terraces. The spectacular scenery of Muong Hoa valley gradually appears within your eyesight. We will then reach the river running at the bottom of the valley and continue the walk on the bank ot the river. We eventually arrive in Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority, where you will take a rest and have lunch at a nice spot. After lunch we walk from Lao Chai to Giang Ta Chai through Ta Van of Dzay and Red Dzao tribes is almost on the hillsides. The view of the valley is more and more extending and stretching to the horizon. We take a stop at Tavan village to visit a local house, before following the trail through bamboo forest to go to Giang Ta Chai villagef where you can swim in the summer time. From Giang Ta Chai we will take a transfer to Topas Ecolodge. Here you will check in to your bungalow and enjoy the view into the valley and dotted mountain surroundings.
Day 2: Topas Ecolodge – Hiking to Lech Dzao Village – Sapa – Lao Cai (8km trekking, 3-4 hour trekking, B- L- D)
We will start the day enjoy your breakfast. At 9:30 you will start your half day hike to visit the Lech village of Red Dao minority. We will follow the road for a while before descending towards a river. Going through rice paddy terraces gives you many opportunities to enjoy the magnificent valley view. We cross the river by a bridge made of stone and then follow a trail going up to the village. You will be able to spend some time at the village to experience daily life. And learn how to the women in their doorways doing their embroidery. From the village, you head back to the lodge. It is your choice when to take the scheduled shuttle bus to Sapa twon during the day. At 17h30, you will take the shuttle bus from Sapa to Lao Cai for the night train back to Hanoi.
Day 3: Arrive in Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi around 4.30 am. Trip completes at the train station.
